Performance Chat Agenda: 31 January 2023

Here is the agenda for this week’s performance team meeting scheduled for January 31, 2023 at 16:00 UTC.

  • Announcements
    • Performance team roadmap for 2023 https://github.com/WordPress/performance/issues/631 If you’re actively contributing to the WordPress Performance Team or plan to do so this year, please share your priorities for 2023 as a comment on this issue!
    • The Gutenberg team recently added TTFB measurement to their repo, which is being collected in the code health dashboard here: https://codehealth.vercel.app/project/1. It’s making visible the performance regression in block theme rendering when compared with classic themes for a simple “hello world” page. As a team, we would like to make sure we’re properly prioritizing the tickets we have for 6.2 that would positively impact this metric—particularly anything that we need to land before the beta 1 milestone next week.
    • Plan to have quick-fire focus area updates (15m) so we can focus the remainder of todays chat on Next steps for Unbundling the Performance Lab Plugin
  • Focus area updates (15m max today)
  • Infrastructure
  • Open floor
    • Next steps for Unbundling the Performance Lab Plugin proposal

This meeting happens in the #core-performance channel. To join the meeting, you’ll need an account on the Make WordPress Slack.
